for its contribution towards cause of disadvantaged
children by constructing a residential school building
in Hyderabad in coordination with a non government &

Lapwing Award was introduced in the year 2005, which
is presented to SHV companies that have developed good
initiatives in the field of sustainable development.
The criterion is that the best ideas benefit both the
company and the community. The awarded initiatives reflect
the diversity of the projects within SHV. Many Business
Units of SHV worldwide have initiated, and supported useful
educational, healthcare and environment programmes. The
Lapwing bird, also know as “Peewit” and “Green Plover”
is commom through temperate Europe and across temperate
Asia. The name Lapwing derives from the “Lapping” sound
its wings make. Or the flapping flight; while peewit describes
the birds’ shrill call.

The Lapwing is a spectacular flyer, tumbling up
and down in great vertical swoops causing a wonderful
acrobatic aerial display or to drive off predatory
birds against attacking their chicks and nests.

initiative and active participation in completion of the CHORD
school in planned time frame. He mentioned that this award should
encourage us to take up more initiatives in Super Gas India in future
also. Indeed Lapwing Award is a great honour to SHV India.
