LPG for New Build: Food Processing Application

THE ESTEEMED CUSTOMER

Our customer in the food processing industry is one of the leading snack manufacturers and distributors, having its food processing facility in Gujarat, which is strategically into the processing of high-quality food products, mainly nachos and pop rings.

The challenges thought of by the customer before deciding to proceed with LPG: 

• The customer was reluctant about the CAPEX, initial setup investment, and the maintenance of LPG installation & was thinking of PNG/LNG usage. 
• Since the food industry involves a lot of safety requirements, the customer had a plethora of internal meetings and had also appointed a third-party consultant to know more about LPG as a fuel.
• As the consumption of LPG was high, the customer was sceptical about placing an order automatically and getting ensured that the order had been placed and delivery accordingly would be done.  
• he customer was doubtful of finding an appropriate LPG supplier who could provide efficient energy solutions in a sustainable manner. 
  
  

SUPERGAS’s approach:

Our initial discussion started in 2018 by collecting the basic input data of fuel consumption, preparing a complete cost-benefit analysis report for the customer, and submitting the ROI. For making comparisons and getting a low-cost solution, the customer looked for some other alternatives and tried local vendors/free installation and supply for LPG, etc. However, due to the brand name of SUPERGAS, after a market survey about SUPERGAS LPG quality, supply assurance, safety & and technical services from their same food industries, the customer made up their mind to go with SUPERGAS.

Finally, after discussions on each aspect of the offer, they chose SUPERGAS as their energy partner, considering quality, technical expertise, and the strength of the support function team. The agreement was signed in December 2018 and was commissioned in May 2019, along with the secondary piping project.

Our team explained the tangible and intangible benefits of LPG with an offer for our LPG manifold for 8x450 Maxima (HLV 250kg/hr.) under BOM (no initial investment). The said installation was built, owned, and maintained by SUPERGAS, wherein the customer will only pay a monthly rent for the installation and for the consumed LPG in which there was nil initial capex to the customer for having the LPG installation. Apart from that, we have also installed our PESO and BIS-approved safety device, “Continuous Gas Monitoring System” (CGMS Plus), for gas leakage deduction with a warning alarm & and SMS facility.
