Liquefied Petroleum Gas or LPG as popularly known is an efficient and innovative energy source that finds its utility for consumers, industry and environment. One of the reputed and widely used  eco-friendly fuels, LPG is a low-carbon and clean energy that doesn’t cost our Mother Earth. It is portable, widely available and is safe. It helps to cut down on the harmful impacts of climate change.

LPG Composition and Properties:

  • LPG is a natural occurring product of the natural gas extraction processes. It is also an automatic result of the oil refining process. This is primarily a mixture of two hydrocarbons:  Propane and Butane. Marketed with an ISI conformation of IS 4576, typical LPG composition is 40% Propane and  rest Butane
  • LPG is liquefied under ambient temperature and pressure. However, it is in gaseous state at normal temperature.
  • It is colorless, odorless. Hence to detect leakages all LPG are odorized with Ethyl Mercaptan
  • LPG is heavier than air, insoluble in water and expands by 250-270 times if allowed to convert into LPG vapour.

Why LPG?

  • Efficient
  • Portable
  • Clean
  • Versatile
  • Accessible

Benefits of LPG:-

  • Lower Carbon Footprint
  • Clean Indoor cooking & healthy for all users
  • Efficient combustion and better end-product quality
  • Lower maintenance of the combustion system
